Multi-channel retailing: Manage stock and sales for non-Ginesys locations

omni5Ginesys POS was a good solution for company-owned or franchisee owned shops indicated above. Yet there are many situations where it is not possible to install a point of sale software even though it is your own stock. For example in a shop-in-shop inside a store being run by a different retailer. Additionaly for online sales also new business models developed like having your own e-commerce website or selling through online marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, ShopClues. We are now providing solutions for these situations as well:

1.       Unmanaged Owned (COCO) store: Such companies have a great deal of problem in managing different outlets of different brands as each brand outlet is using different ERP software. Now with this feature, you can create a new Organization Site or that store which will help you keep the track of your stock and sales. Sales can be uploaded in Excel.

2.       Marketplace (fulfilled by marketplace): In such e-sales channel, the marketplace handles the order and dispatch of your product. Here, you can create an unmanaged customer site to handle such outlets from where you can import all the sales and stock information required.

3.       Marketplace (fulfilled by seller):  In this, you handle the order and dispatch of your product like it is done in your own e-commerce site. Order processing to dispatch/invoicing needs to be done in E-commerce Aggregator’s website. So the excel sheet created by it can be imported by Ginesys to help you retrieve the information.

That is not all! We have added new sales & distribution reports and fine-tuned existing reports to check out information from the above sales channel. This will help in a big way to enablement of multi-channel or omni-channel retailing.

Your Invoice now comes with Custom Fields

Ginesys InvoiceSometimes a retail merchant would like to track certain invoice characteristics which are not part of the transaction. For example, if the retailer needs to track if an invoice was for a male or female shopper. This can be done with a choice of these two options. If the retailer is creating an invoice for fulfilling an e-commerce order, they need a field to capture the online order number.

For these kind of requirements Ginesys has introduced custom fields driven by the merchant in the Point of Sales. These can be defined at the head office level and we can also deliver reports against the same. We hope merchants will be able to use these fields to drive retail software more efficiently

Credit note becomes more secured with Ginesys OTP

Creditnote update GinesysMany retailers and brands issue credit notes against returned items to shoppers but do not have an idea of genuine redemption or use of the credit note. Making it mandatory to tag a genuine mobile number when generating a credit note so that a one-time password (OTP) can be sent to the same when redeeming.

Another policy setting allows a single OTP to be generated for multiple redemption’s like loyalty points, gift voucher and credit note when being used together in the same invoice. This makes it very easy for shoppers to use multiple modes of payment at the POS.

This is just one of the ways Ginesys retail management system makes the point of sale (POS) operations less susceptible to fraud.

GST: The Nation needs Your Taxes

gst

Tax structure for indirect taxes  in India has remained complex with a combination of state and centre level taxes and compliance rules. The complexity slowed down business due to requirements of multiple forms in various formats required for movement of goods within the country. Checking compliance was also naturally difficult hence leaving room for tax avoidance. Long term reforms had proposed a single tax known as Goods and Services Tax (GST) applicable uniformly based on the value. GST will be a single Indirect tax for the whole nation, which will make India one unified common market. Each stage would then be taxed only on added value.

Now the GST bill is passed it will be implemented into the systems on 1st April 2017.It shall come into force on such date as the Central or a State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf. While each State GST Act would extend to the relevant State, the Central GST Act extends to the whole of India and includes Jammu & Kashmir (‘J&K’).

Being a major mover of goods retail industry will have a major impact through GST implementation and we feel that the overall impact will be positive as it will reduce current artificial constraints on business domicile and movement of inventory. The manufacturer will be able to reach more consumers through distributors and stores across India with ease of calculating and reporting of taxes.

We at Ginesys are fine-tuning our Retail ERP and POS systems with a vision to simplify and make the  process of adoption of  GST as simple as we can. Through these blog posts you will be able to get an inside view into how we are working this subject.

Ginesys Ensures Easy Automated Transfer of Master Data to Stores

????????????????????????????????

Quite often in retail operations, pivotal data (also called as master data) has to be updated at stores.
