Regulate return of stock from stores

hocontrolNow retailers with a number of shops running Ginesys POS can manage
their stock movement from a single point of control. In Ginesys retail
management software we have added functionality to request return of
stock from point of sale locations. The stores will then return stock
from POS according to the requested quantity and items. This brings much
more control on the return process and enhances the replenishment possibilities.
Retail shops having large unsold inventory do not need to decide what
to send back. The head office can check other store requirements and
either request a return to warehouse (DC) or a transfer to another

Credit note becomes more secured with Ginesys OTP

Creditnote update GinesysMany retailers and brands issue credit notes against returned items to shoppers but do not have an idea of genuine redemption or use of the credit note. Making it mandatory to tag a genuine mobile number when generating a credit note so that a one-time password (OTP) can be sent to the same when redeeming.

Another policy setting allows a single OTP to be generated for multiple redemption’s like loyalty points, gift voucher and credit note when being used together in the same invoice. This makes it very easy for shoppers to use multiple modes of payment at the POS.

This is just one of the ways Ginesys retail management system makes the point of sale (POS) operations less susceptible to fraud.

GST: The Nation needs Your Taxes

Tax structure for indirect taxes  in India has remained complex with a combination of state and centre level taxes and compliance rules. The complexity slowed down business due to requirements of multiple forms in various formats required for movement of goods within the country. Checking compliance was also naturally difficult hence leaving room for tax avoidance. Long term reforms had proposed a single tax known as Goods and Services Tax (GST) applicable uniformly based on the value. GST will be a single Indirect tax for the whole nation, which will make India one unified common market. Each stage would then be taxed only on added value.

Now the GST bill is passed it will be implemented into the systems on 1st April 2017.It shall come into force on such date as the Central or a State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint in this behalf. While each State GST Act would extend to the relevant State, the Central GST Act extends to the whole of India and includes Jammu & Kashmir (‘J&K’).

Being a major mover of goods retail industry will have a major impact through GST implementation and we feel that the overall impact will be positive as it will reduce current artificial constraints on business domicile and movement of inventory. The manufacturer will be able to reach more consumers through distributors and stores across India with ease of calculating and reporting of taxes.

We at Ginesys are fine-tuning our Retail ERP and POS systems with a vision to simplify and make the  process of adoption of  GST as simple as we can. Through these blog posts you will be able to get an inside view into how we are working this subject.

Configure Email Notifications plug-in

Retail ERP, Push Notification, POS Sofware, Point of Sales, Retail Software

Ginesys Retail ERP now has the option to install and configure push notification of Emails. This attribute automates the business communication with instant email sent on the smart phones and tablets. These kinds of notifications are so potent that they acts as a disruption to the user, so the user is forced to either see them instantly or keeps reminding unless its read. It’s a very crucial feature because information is always stored in the email even though devices change. It has universal accessibility which just needs an internet connection to get access.

In the Ginesys Retail Software, the feature sends two kinds of notifications:

1 Transaction Events- Notifications are sent to devices in case of any business events relating to operations such as Purchase Order, Sales Order, Sales Invoice, Payment Advice or Sales Return. These events are functional blocks of retail business and information needs to be channelized effectively. Retail POS software flows the email to both; the employees for internal operations as well as B2B customers.

2. Recurring Events- In this scenario, the operational events which keeps on repeating, like weekly/monthly report, outstanding balance and payments are regularly emailed to the B2B customers.
